About the Haus
Haus of Lynx was created by two drag kings, King Butch and Spikey Mikey, in 2023 after deciding something had to be done about the lack of a diverse queer scene in York. Though there is still much more variety and diversity that can be had, they are happy to say that since creating Haus of Lynx they have put on countless inclusive drag nights, debuted several drag artists, created a space for local artists to sell their goods and more! They'd like to give special thanks to all those who attend their events... Haus of Lynx couldnt keep providing a safe space of entertainment without you all!
How It Started
After hitting it off when first meeting, the idea of a drag king house was proposed. Spikey Mikey and King Butch had a sit down at the local queer space in York, Over the Rainbow Cafe, and floated a few ideas about. The name Haus of Lynx was brought to life over thinking of the most playboy thing one could wear... Lynx Body Spray. From there the ideas just kept coming. Eventually they added to their merry band of drag artists as a drag king/thing house.
King Butch
King Butch crawled out of his crow's nest in York in 2023, and has since then performed his Satan-sucking drag rituals in shows across Yorkshire. He is like the dyke re-imagination of that bloke from CBBC Raven, mixed in with lots of cheap leather harnesses. Now based in Leeds, he also produces and directs 'Cum to the Cabaret', a queer-only night of drag, burlesque and strip inspired by vintage dance styles.
His acts are young, fun and full of c*m, inspired by his love of weird old gay sh*t....ready to break a sweat yet? xx
Spikey Mikey
Spikey Mikey is an american living in York. They were brought to the UK due to University at York St John studying History. Their Drag persona came from an idea that he and his friends had after sharing sentimental thoughts, and they made his name after his old stuffed dragon named Spike. Since then Spikey MIkey has done many drag performances and hosted many nights, becoming one of Yorks most playboy, saucy, and vivacous kings. He tends to make acts per what a show needs/theme rather than recycling, as well as sticking with a historical or douchebag vibe.
